A Book to trust #25 Perils of unbelief

Throughout the ages people had doubts about many things, but most of all were not sure if there would be existing a Higher being that caused everything. There also have been people who thought or think science and God cannot go together. Many people are caught by their own fears, frustrations and agony of not knowing certain things.

Lots of people in their lack of knowledge prefer to lean upon their own understanding of things they see around them. For them other human beings or people they can connect to and as such they think they may trust their words, certainly when it are people who went to university and tell they are a theologian.  Therefore trusting more in man lots of citizens are not not so much interested in what Jehovah says or wants. The majority of people in this world is not at all interested in the Word of God. Many of them even do not really believe in Him. Even when there may be many who proclaim to be a Christian, we should see that first of all their faith is not so much in Christ nor in God. Worst of all is that many call themselves Christian but do not believe in the same God as Christ Jesus, because they have taken Jesus into their god.  Furthermore they also do not live according to the teachings of that Jewish master teacher, nor to the Laws of God.

Many, even those who call themselves Christian, do not want to believe it is possible that a human being could give himself to bring salvation to others. They do not believe Jesus could put his own will aside to do the Will of God. It goes beyond their minds that once there would be only one person who would want to give his life for that of others.

Like vanity brought the first human being to go against the Wishes of God, it is vanity of man what makes him not to accept the Biblical Truth and to live according to the Will of God.

Surrounded by many difficulties and trials, people often find it difficult to believe that a just God would exist. Others think we may not be sceptical about that what we read and hear. They forget that God himself asks us to be weary of all things and to test the matters. Also the pupils of Christ knew we should be careful for all the teachings and see if they are right.

1 John 4:1 KJV  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

We must not be afraid to believe that

“faith requires evidence”.

When coming to faith it should be visible to others that it is there in us. To have a good faith we should take care that we not just believe everything what comes under our eyes. Always we should check the things we come to hear and see, so that we can sort out the good from the bad.

Many believe an atheist does not believe, but than they are forgetting that first of all an atheist believes that there is no god or God or no deity that was at the beginning of everything. Others with disbelief are the agnostics who say we don’t or can’t know whether or not there is a God, but often we do find that they are not willing to look for it, though the answers may be very near. They perhaps shall have to wait a long time before they will come to see the phenomena of their experience, when they do not open their heart to what happens around them and do not see what happens in nature.

For the unbelieving and disbelieving people should just have to look around, opening their eyes and heart.

Romans 1:20 KJV  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Not only through the attributes of the things we can see nearly every day, like the sun coming up are going down, the flowers growing and blooming, all things we can observe and could make us wonder Who or What is behind it all. Those who study geography, botany, biology, chemistry, astronomy, physics, etc., should see the wonderful world which man cannot declare or unmask. But the One Who is behind it all is able to be known, though we shall not be able to see Him, because man can not see God.

Exodus 33:20 KJV  And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

Patriarchs like Abraham and Isaac and prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Jesus had faith in that Unseen God and wanted to do His Will. Thousands of years before Christ was born and long before the Bible was assembled people came to the faith of the unseen. Today we do have so many more boos telling about how God helped and delivered people. today we do have so many more words to convince us, but still they often reach deaf ears. Jesus also very well knew that prophets were not without honour, and that many in the time he declared God still ware with disbelief when they could see so many wondrous things.

Mark 6:4-6 KJV  But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.  (5)  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.  (6)  And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

One can wonder

What needs to occur for transformation to belief

Unbelief and disbelief are in this world because people do not want to come to see the Divine Creator of the universe and because they are so concentrated on their own self. That egoism and their egocentrism makes it very difficult for man to come to accept That One Who is Higher than them. Because from the start man doubted God and disobeyed Him, we can see that the fallen nature of man is focused on self. Ungodly focus is self-focus and is the trap the world has laid in front of each of us. People mostly want to find solutions for their problems in this world by people from this world, instead of getting their light from the Maker of it all.

The Most High Elohim calls His creatures to walk by faith, not by sight. His request is to recognise Him and His works and that we come depending on Him and come to work to be in His will and not according the will of other human beings, loving their heathen festivals and rites.

For this reason God wants us to come to believe His Word so that we can come to the real and right faith. This demands humbleness and acceptance that God is able to protect His Own Word, providing it in several languages all over the world, and not providing just one Bible version in only one language (like the KJV-only people do believe).

Often by unbelievers and disbelievers or by those who do not want to come to the biblical Faith we see that their pride rules them so that they stay spiritually blind. We should be concerned for the many warnings there are given to mankind by the Scriptures. One saying

Hebrews 3:12 KJV  Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Let all those who want to love God make sure they do not fall in the trap of those unbelievers and those who present nicely looking pearls.
