A Book to trust #26 Roadmap for life out of darkness

As seen in a previous posting the Bible should be considered as the infallible Word of God which is designed to be applied. It should be our guide for our day-to-day life, where it really counts. That’s why spending time in God’s word is so important. It becomes the roadmap for life — an abundant life — the life Jesus promised to his followers.

When it comes to applying the Bible, we tend to gravitate toward what we should do in response. But since the goal of reading the Bible is being transformed into the image of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 4:20–24), we must ask a set of questions that lead to more holistic application. {8 Questions to Help You Understand and Apply the Bible}

In “A Book to trust #24 Sopherim, calligraphers and a message of love and hope” you also could read how first of all there is the Major Figure about which everything turns around. The Elohim Hashem Jehovah being the Divine Creator, being the main character of the Bible, should have to bring us to become eager to know Him better. For sure He should be our starting point. Every passage of Scripture reveals something about That Most High God Who is Unseen and the God above all gods. Even if He is not specifically mentioned we are confronted with His Hand or His Eye having an important position and interfering act in mankind. Since the beginning of times the Divine Creator (Maker of all things) looked at His creatures and followed what man did. At regular intervals He stretched out His Hands to help them and all the time His eyes were on them, seeing if they went the right way, often giving indications so that they could stay on the right track.

The Bible brings those stories of how Jehovah God was always there with man. All the time He let His Word by His Voice come down to earth and even asked certain men to write it down so that others could learn from it. His Words, written down, should also form an invitation for mankind to look for His Almighty position and His special character (Rev. 4:8), His conduct and how He can help us to find ourselves at ease. (Ps. 23:1–6) .

Revelation 4:8 (RNKJV)
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, יהוה {Jehovah} El-Shaddai, which was, and is, and is to come.

Psalms 23:1-6 (RNKJV): Psalms 23
1 יהוה is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of יהוה for ever.

In the Book of books we can find many people calling upon the Most High יהוה {Jehovah} Who has always been and Whom they came to consider as the Most Important One in their life and wanted others also come to see how we as fallible man need That Supreme Being. Many people from the ancient times wanted others to know they can count on the Divine Creator when we are willing to call upon Him with a sincere heart and mind.

Psalms 145:18 (RNKJV)
18 יהוה is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Not only God by His Voice called man. Also His prophets called people to come to acknowledge their Creator. Their call onto the people around them was to bring them out of the darkness, and that is also what the Word of God in the Bible can do.

1 Peter 2:9 (RNKJV)
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

When looking at the Book of books we also come to learn about the concerns of God.

Exodus 22:21-22 (RNKJV)
21 Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. 22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

As such that Book of books, the Bible, shows us how we should go into the world and behave ourselves. It shows us how we have to relate to one another and should see how that Most High Unseen Supreme Being has made everything beautiful in its time. and tells us how in the near future everything shall be restored again to its original beauty. It lets us know that Jehovah God also has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 KJV  He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Those books show us how man has fallen and how he has become corrupted and how God has given everything in the hands of man but shall take it back. Look for the fallen condition — the sinful beliefs, attitudes, feelings, actions, or tendencies mentioned or implied in the text.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (RNKJV)
16 These six things doth יהוה hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

It is that pride that brought man down, him not believing God wanted the best for him and gave them everything they needed. The Bible not only shows that history of man’s fall but also shows how many centuries later there was a man who managed to have full belief and trust in God and managed to follow that Word of God and bringing it to others. That sent one from God, a son of man, also called son of God, came to show the way to God and explained the Word of God so that man should have no excuse saying he could not understand it. Consider what the above passage reveals about living as those who’ve been redeemed through the true witness of God, Christ Jesus, Jeshua the Messiah and his work.

Romans 12:9-13 (RNKJV)
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving יהוה; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

The Bestseller all times is given to mankind so that they can come to see the thing how they are and why they are so. All those stories, the poetry, the thrillers should hep us to be carried away in the Wishes of God unleashing in our lives the Power of His word. By going through all those very different books, following a thread, we should come to see how by making our life better, changing the way we think and act, we can also create a better world for others around us. The Bible not only shows us how people like Moses, Joshua, Samuel, Gad, Nathan, Jeremiah, Ezra, Nehemiah, Mordecai, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekiel,Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos,Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, Jesus, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, James, Peter, Jude and Paul, witnessed for God. They provided us with their words too to help us to grow in wisdom and in becoming a worthy child of God. All those writers of the collection or library of sacred or set apart works, try to bring us insight in the Work of God. They also want to show us how He wants to use His word to set our lives apart for Himself.

The “water” or the flow of the words of God should quench our thirst. It should also give us enough wisdom and hands us the tools to become ourselves Witnesses of or for Jehovah God.  We should not let ourselves being carried away by the false teachings of man, going to follow human doctrines, but should keep to the biblical doctrines.

The bible invites us to come closer to Jehovah God and sheds a light on the Salvation He has provided. That message of salvation should give us hope and should make it that we humbly and dependently will cooperate with our saviour Christ and his heavenly Father (the Only One True God) desiring to become worthy members or partakers of the Body of Christ and being worthy children of God.

When we shall come to read the bible regularly we shall be strengthened and made able never to lose sight of this truth:

God is completing us; putting on the finishing touches before our grand debut in the high courts of heaven.
