Trinitarians making their proof for existence of God look ridiculous #7

amAtheists may say there is no God because

.Good parents don’t allow their children to inflict harm on others. Good people don’t stand by and watch horrible acts committed against innocent men, women and children. They don’t condone violence and abuse. {Children without God results in Narcissism}

They do forget, that because of the rebellion of man God has given them the possibility to do whatever they want and how to use their free will.

Let us not forget

free-will and parental guidance falls flat when a real parent reflects on the actions of children. {Children without God results in Narcissism}

Homo Stupidus remarks

When humans began to believe in God, an all-powerful Being that is believed to be the Creator of the Universe and all earthly Life, they became fearful that this Being would punish them if It was sufficiently displeased. All the terrifying events that take place in the natural course of things, such as disease, famine, sickness, natural disasters, attacks by hostile human groups, or being maimed or eaten by other animals, were henceforth attributed to God’s wrath. And thus was born the idea of “sin,” a transgression of one of God’s many rules, which, it was believed, would be implacably punished by divine retribution. {God Never Asked to be Worshipped: We Have Made God in our Image}

He further writes

Apart from human beings, there are no other organisms who believe, or have believed, that they must kneel or prostrate themselves before, while giving thanks to, God – the Creator and Preserver of Life on Earth. {God Never Asked to be Worshipped: We Have Made God in our Image}

if God wanted to be worshipped by Its creatures, then It would not have waited so long a time to create a species that was aware of God’s existence and paid It homage and reverence. {God Never Asked to be Worshipped: We Have Made God in our Image}

Some varieties of atheism

and that is where agnostics, atheists, adversaries of God and other-believers may go wrong. The Divine Creator has man not so much created that he would bow down in front of Him. He wanted respect and acknowledgement and that they would multiply. The first man and mannin (Adam and Eve) could feel their Creator was around. At first they were happy and underwent no suffering. Suffering only came unto them after their rebellion against their Creator (with the Fall of man). man doubted the position of their maker.
Later some of their descendants became to doubt the possibility of a creator who had the right to control everything. some of the people who came after the first created human beings did perhaps not have disbelief in God but could be found under the groups we classify in present times as agnosticism, ignosticism, ietsism, scepticism, pantheism, atheism, strong or positive atheism, implicit atheism, and apatheism. It is in use in the fields of Christian apologetics and general liberal theology.

some non-theists report seemings that it seems to them that God does not exist because of their experience of apparently pointless suffering. Likewise, many people doubt the possibility premise because of arguments that propose that God’s existence is impossible because the concept of God is incoherent like that of a married bachelor. If this is the case, then God’s existence is not possible. These arguments, at least, provide evidence that the possibility premise is not true. {Response to Leftow on the Ontological Argument}

When there would be no God but still be all such suffering, would you not think the Godhead would give something to hope for? Was it perhaps that what brought people to look for a Godly or Divine Being, Something Which was mightier than them and their suffering? Man also missing a lot of things, because he has them not, but would like to have them, also could have brought the idea to have a god or God. Also the idea nothing can move from itself or get something going from out a dead or lifeless position. So somewhere that life or a beginning point has to come from.

Many times in history, we have seen that we tend to impose design or intelligence on things in nature that can be explained eventually by natural processes. Given this fact, it seems like we should be somewhat skeptical about inferring design from fine-tuning. We already know that we’ve gotten it wrong many times. {Fine-tuning argument commits the fallacy of ignoring background information}

We are aware something has to have a starting point or should have an origin, which in our eyes can not come from nothing. Therefore we might think there has always have been something, which we (at the moment still can not declare). That unknown beginning we also can call ‘God’. And when we look at what He Himself declares Who He is that is what we should understand of God, Him Being the Essence of life, the Being Itself or Beginning of everything, The Being Without there is no possibility to be.

14 God said to Moshe, “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh [I am/will be what I am/will be],” and added, “Here is what to say to the people of Isra’el: ‘Ehyeh [I Am or I Will Be] has sent me to you.’” {Exodus 3:14 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

We as human beings would love to personalise everything or want to see it in relationship to ourself. As such you also could imagine the Divine Creator Being the being itself and the giver of life, He too wants to see a relationship between His created beings and Himself.

The greatest good for a human person is to be in a relationship with God, and God would desire this because he’s all-loving. To be in a meaningful (i.e. reciprocal) relationship with God we need to believe that He exists. There are some goods that are greater than others but our greatest good is to be in a relationship with God. Not to mention, many of these other good, if not all of them, can be enjoyed in a relationship with God. {If there is a God who is always open to a personal relationship with each human…}

Though

One might object that there’s some unknown reason for why God allows non-resistant unbelief. But this won’t work because we know that being in a relationship with God is our greatest good. Similarly, this would also mean that appealing to a character building defense wouldn’t work as well as the freewill defense. There might also be other ways to avoid the premise as a necessary truth.

One might also object that belief in God is necessary for a relationship with God, but it’s not sufficient for someone to actually enter into a relationship with God In other words, one can believe that God exists but not enter into a relationship with God.

Given that some people could choose not to enter into a relationship with God, why would God need to reveal himself to those people? Would it be worthless for God to reveal himself to such people? {If there is a God who is always open to a personal relationship with each human…}

God having given man the possibility to arrange the world like he himself wants to do it, in his freedom is not limited by God. Therefore there are good and bad people who can do good or bad to others, with or without them having to believe in God. Unbelievers can be good people and can also in certain cases do better things to others than certain believers in God might do. We can see a lot of people who claim to be Jew, Christian or Muslim who do a lot of bad to others. There are also enough bad people who believe in God or in gods, but do not bother about their actions, as long as they can profit from them themselves. That is why in the Bible is also written that the satan (the adversary of God), the devil (slanderer) or the demon (the hater of God or mentally ill person) also believes in God.

James 2:19 (AKJV)
19 You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

It is true that the devil or God’s opponent “believes” in God – that is, he believes God exists. But this is a far cry from the kind of faith we are called to have. The Divine Creator does not look for such a belief as that from His adversaries. To truly believe in God means to trust Him  – in other words, we not only have to believe He exists, but we actually have to commit our lives to Him and trust Him to Guide us and to save us through His sent one, the son of man and son of God Jesus Christ.

We can see that those who oppose God are not willing to trust Him or to give themselves in His Hands. Today we see lots of people who have set themselves up in opposition to God and want nothing to do with Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (AKJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

To approach God, a person has to have the right belief or faith and should be aware that He is the Only One Who can give the final excellence of life as the Rewarder of those who seek Him.

Chris Langan writes in a response on believe in Satan, God, Jesus and religion:

If one does not believe in the existence of Satan, then one can be called (e.g.) “a non-follower of any religion incorporating the concept of Satan”. If one does not believe in the sayings of Jesus, then one can be called (e.g.) a “non-Christian” and a “non-Muslim”. If one does not believe in the existence of Jesus, then one can be called (e.g.) a “non-follower of any Abrahamic religion”. If one does not believe in the existence of God qua Logos (essentially, logic), then one can be called (e.g.) “illogical” or “irrational”; if one does not believe in God under any definition, then one can be called (e.g.) “atheistic” or “agnostic”. If one does not believe in any religion at all, then one can be called (e.g.) “irreligious”. If one does not believe in the very existence of religion, then one can be called (e.g.) “delusional”. If one does not believe in any of these things, then one can be described as all of the above (and more, very little of it complimentary ;).
