We should recognise that in the bible there is written about several gods but that most attention is brought to come to see that there is only One Major Being Who is the God above all those other gods.

The best way to find out Who that God of gods is, is to examine the Book of books He Himself provided to give insight in His personality and His works.

Creator, Former and Maker God

“ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge 1:1 ASV)

“ And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good.” (Ge 1:21 ASV)

“ And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Ge 1:27 ASV)

“ These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.” (Ge 2:4 ASV)

Eternal or everlasting God

“ The eternal God is thy dwelling-place, And underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy from before thee, And said, Destroy.” (De 33:27 ASV)

“ Behold, God is great, and we know him not; The number of his years is unsearchable.” (Job 36:26 ASV)

The Unseen Spirit God Who is One

“20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for man shall not see me and live. 21 And Jehovah said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon the rock: 22 and it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand until I have passed by: 23 and I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back; but my face shall not be seen.” (Ex 33:20-23 ASV)

“ and ye said, Behold, Jehovah our God hath showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth speak with man, and he liveth.” (De 5:24 ASV)
