Only once and with consequences

Coming closer to times which were predicted many centuries ago we should take the words of the Nazarene prophet Jeshua (Jesus Christ) at heart.

Jesus who was sent and authorized by God, very specifically instructs his original disciples to teach new disciples to

“observe all things that I have commanded you”.

Too many people calling themselves New Born Christians think they do not have to keep to any commandment any more because Jesus has saved them. How wrong they are and blinded by the many preachers who want them to believe we do not need any works of faith any more.

When people have come to know Christ Jesus and accept him as their saviour they should as followers of him try to live a life their master worthy.  People who are mature in their faith do know that by following Jesus his teachings they can come to walk closely with God. One of Jesus his commandments was to go out and to tell others about his heavenly Father and His Plan with the world. From the way Jesus talked to the many who came to listen at him, we can understand for him it was clear people had to tell others about what was done by God through him. His disciples were given the task to prepare others to continue the preaching work they had to do. Men and women, all those calling themselves followers of Christ (or Christian) should come to teach others how to do the same as the apostles.

Like the apostle Paul people have to lead people to completion. That requires more than preaching and teaching. It requires discipleship. When Jesus gave instructions to his disciples, he emphasized the importance of continued discipleship in the community and/or ecclesia.

18 And Yahushua came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the age. (Matt 28:18-20, NRKJV)

Especially in the time coming closer to the Latter Days, people should be informed enough so that their eyes shall be opened and shall come to see how many people have deceived them. It are those who really love God and are thankful for what Jesus has done for them that should give the present generation Godly wisdom to know how to navigate in an ever changing world. Today people need relevant teaching to help them in new digital, social, and political environments as well as a changing workplace dynamic.

Real followers of Christ should show the world how Christ Jesus is the way to God and how we all have to go in his footsteps. Those who call themselves Christian should present a worthy character of the Body of Christ and they must teach others how to be Christians in real life and online. Followers of Christ must teach those around them how to apply spiritual wisdom in a popular culture that embraces and accepts immorality, racial injustice, and a growing acceptance of the recreational drug culture. We can’t simply talk about these things and condemn them without teaching believers how to survive in their context.

In a generation that is inundated with so many examples of sports figures, music artists, celebrities, and social media influencers, the Christian example through discipleship is more critical than ever before.

With the knowledge that near the end-times the world shall behave godlessly and there shall be a lot of problems, we should prepare each other to endure such difficult times and afflictions.

The gospel and epistle writers gave the words of their master and his Most High heavenly Father, explaining them were necessary. Both the evangelist Levi or Matthew and Luke talk about the signs we should look at and note that when Jesus returns that he will come in a cloud and that when this happens, it will be visible to everyone. Those writings make it clear that we do have to prepare for it (remember the many illustrations or parables of Christ Jesus) and that nobody shall have the right to say they did not know, because  it shall not be a secret return where followers of Christ suddenly disappear with no understanding by those left behind of what has taken place. All people of the earth shall see the son of man and son of God returning to this earth and all will mourn as a consequence of it.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matt 24:29-31, NRKJV)

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:25-28, NRKJV)

The many people who preached in the name of the Only One True God may have been bullied a lot, but they know in their heart they shall not be afraid to keep their chin up. With their heads held high they will be grateful for the long-awaited return of their Messiah. Because after times of war, famine, earthquakes, and other terrible events, then the long awaited time of which several prophets spoke shall come to a reality, giving peace for ever for all those who lived according the Will of God. Then the real lovers of God shall not anymore have to face the adversaries of God, because they shall be done with, their life put to an end or if they previously were death and resurrected shall be given a second death.

The day when

“all the peoples of the earth … see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven” (Matt. 24:30)

will be followed by immediate and dire consequences for those unprepared. For centuries prophets warned people and spread the Word of God. Ultimately Jesus warned mankind that they should be ready for when the day would come that God had given all people and workers in the field enough opportunities to fulfil their duties and to come to the House of God, to come close to him as God His child be it His lost son or daughter.

When people can come to see those foretold things they should know that the kingdom of God is near.

31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of יהוה is nigh at hand. (Luke 21:31, NRKJV)

The many writings of the Book of books have given enough lessons for people to know what they should do; (2Ti 3:16-17) Therefore people shall have to take heed to themselves and should abstain from unworthy things, impurities and unchristian way of life. Though all might see how the world shall become more godless and hearts be weighed down with giddiness, drunkenness, and cares of this life, when that Day come upon many unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But when people do know their Scriptures they shall have enough knowledge to recognize certain signs. Therefore real followers of Christ shall continuously study the Bible, regularly pray and ask God to help them to live like He wants it, so that they may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the son of man when he returns.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (Luke 21:34-36, NRKJV)

When there shall be preaching all over the world, nobody shall have a reason to excuse himself. When, after all that preaching of the coming Kingdom of God, the unbelievers wanted to stay in their ‘wisdom’, they shall have to bear the consequences of facing the death which was given as the penalty for sin. The many false teachers wanting all to believe that everybody is saved by the crucifixion and bloodshed of Christ, shall also belong to those who shall have to be accountable for what they misleadingly taught.

In the account Matthew gives in his 24th chapter (v. 36-41) where Jesus says  of that day and hour that no one knows, (not even the angels of heaven), nor himself, but his heavenly Father only. The only thing Jesus knows is what God gave him to tell others, like Noah warned in his days.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your master doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. (Matt 24:36-44, NRKJV)

Jesus tells a parable about three servants who were entrusted with a sum of money to be invested for him. After a period of time, the master held the servants accountable for their actions. (Matthew 25:14-30) – Picture from: Held Accountable, by Tom Cox Jesustrek

We are reminded, in five parables that describe in symbolic language, what will happen when Jesus returns. The first is the parable of the thief (Matthew 24:42-44); the second is the parable of the unfaithful servant (Matthew 24:45-51); the third is the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13); the fourth is the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30); the fifth is the parable of the sheep and goats (Matthew 25:31-46).

From those parables we learn what happens to those prepared for the latter days, but also what happens to those who did not listen or even thought they would have time enough before taking action. Those who have to tell others what they have to do, or what shall come, should make themselves and the others to be prepared for the time the master comes back.

In the Messianic Scriptures we find a very faithful and wise servant, the son of man born in Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth, who walked many miles to get people to hear about that coming Kingdom of God with its marvellous unending time of peace. Jesus is the servant of God and as the Christ he is also the authorized one from God who may be our master. The Parable of the Unfaithful Servant is a metaphor for our relation and work for our master Jesus. That master is also the bridegroom who has invited all people to come to attend his wedding banquet. The bridegroom was “a long time in coming” but like a thief in the night he also showed up without notice.

People should clearly see how those who are not prepared shall miss the boat, whilst those prepared shall be welcomed into to the wedding banquet or to live in that incredible Kingdom of God where there shall be no war, crime, hunger, sickness, aging or death anymore.

God’s original purpose was that everything would be good. God’s purpose was for man to have children and eventually to spread their Paradise over all the earth. Although the first people chose to disobey God, thus proving to be unfit to live forever, God’s original purpose did not change. God gave time to man to let them prove they could manage the earth (which they cannot). But two millennia ago a son of man was born who as a second Adam proved to be faithful to the Divine Creator God. That son of man and son of God is the Messiah, promised in the Hebrew Scriptures, who will return and serve as a divinely appointed king to rule over the coming new world. (Psalm 2:2, 6-9; Daniel 7:13, 14)

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: יהוה shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: יהוה hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. (Ps 2:4-9, NRKJV)

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. (Dan 7:13-14, NRKJV)

It are the followers of that Nazarene master teacher who have to show the world that he is the best way to God and that he as the saviour or Messiah will rid the earth of all wickedness, and then the psalm will be fulfilled:

“The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” — Psalm 37:29; Isaiah 55:11.

These days many faithfull people might be shamefull, but they should know there shall come a day when that shall not be necessary any more. The righteous among God and Christ their servants shall inherit the earth when the Day of God has come. And their inheritance shall be forever.

18 יהוה knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. 19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. 20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of יהוה shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. 21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. 22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by יהוה: and he delighteth in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for יהוה upholdeth him with his hand. 25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. 26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. 27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. 28 For יהוה loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. (Ps 37:18-29, NRKJV)

Those telling about what is to come should not only tell about the bad things this world shall have to face, because true believers have lovely prospects, knowing that man and beast will live in peace (Isaiah 11:6; compare Isaiah 65:25) never having to face wars and violence (Isaiah 2:4; compare Psalm 46:9.) all feeling united as one family united in love (1 John 4:8). We can tell about our hope that when Jesus returns it shall be for the days that all suffering comes to an end. Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from man’s eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore (Revelation 21:4).

4 And יהוה shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev 21:4, NRKJV)

When the time shall be there that lots of people all over the world shall proclaim the Good News, and shall ask all to recognise that Jehovah is the Only One True God, Who is One God and Lord above all lords of all mankind, Whose Word was written for all humans, both men and women (Genesis 22:18; 1 Timothy 2:4; Ephesians 5:33), then shall the time come (Matthew 24:14). It shall be the only one time that the Old New shall be axchanged for a New World with Jesus as the firstborn of that New World, him being the king, ruling in the Name of God.
