A Book to trust #29 God His Book, God-breathed profitable for doctrine, for reproof and for correction

In this godless world lots of people think they do not need a god or God or the Bible. they should know that man is not made to live only of the material goods, like food and drinks.

Matthew 4:4 (RNKJV)
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of יהוה.

Luther who brought the Word of God (the Bible) in the language of the people.

It is true that there are also words in the Bible which are not from God, but all the words in that Book of books were dictated by God to the scriveners and as such every word coming out of the mouth of God can be found in the Bible, in whatever language or version it might be.

Some may think only their Bible in their language has the True Word of God, but that would make God in a very cruel God, not willing to give His Important Word to peoples who speak an other language. Peoples should not be afraid that God would withhold His Word making that they would not be able to get the necessary wisdom about the Kingdom of God. God wants that all people come to see what is important for them. All people should know that the Bible is God His Book and that it is as a God-breathed work protected by His Power (the Holy Spirit) making it to a useful tool for all sorts of people wherever they may live and whatever language they may speak. For each of us the bible should be our tool for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that we can become children of God completed, thoroughly equipped for every good action.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (RNKJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of יהוה, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of יהוה may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

But to come to understand God’s Word in whatever language and with whatever bible translation the person has to be willing to come to hear the Word of God. When that person prefers to stay blinded by human teachings or human doctrines, it shall become very difficult to come to the Biblical Truth.

If you call out for discernment – raise your voice for understanding – and if you are willing to seek Biblical Truth as if it were the most precious thing  or would like to search for it like a hidden treasure,  then you will understand how to fear the Elohim Hashem Jehovah God. When opening your heart for the Word of God, looking at one or more Bible translations you will discover knowledge about God.  For it is the Most High God above all gods Who gives wisdom, and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. It is That Unseen Power Which stores up effective counsel for the upright, and is like a shield for those who live with integrity, to guard the paths of the righteous and to protect the way of his pious ones. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity – every good way.

Proverbs 2:3-9 (RNKJV)
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of יהוה, and find the knowledge of Elohim. 6 For יהוה giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

For that reason God also asks man not only to read from the manuscripts or rolls, but also to speak about the Word of God and to continually read from that Book of books the Bible.

Nehemiah 8:8 (RNKJV)
8 So they read in the book in the law of Elohim distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

Luke 24:32 (RNKJV)
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

At the beginning of our contemporary calendar people could find also such a master teacher or rabbi, who spoke nearly every day about the Words of God, so that those listening to him could come to an understanding of the Scriptures.

Luke 24:45 (RNKJV)
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

This rebbe his pupils and chosen ones from Christ also continued to talk to others and to argue about that given word in the hope many things would become clear.

Acts 17:2 (RNKJV)
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

The followers of Christ had received the task to go out preaching so that others too could come to wisdom.

2 Timothy 4:2-3 (RNKJV)
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

God breathed His word into the Bible writers, so that what they wrote wasn’t merely the word of men, but was God speaking through them.

2 Peter 1:20 (RNKJV)
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

This is what makes the Bible unique amongst books; God’s word is all we need to prepare us to every good work (2Ti 3:17). We need no other books or revelations, as the Bible is enough to completely equip us (2Ti 3:17).

The apostles knew also that there would come a time that there would be given false teachings or not a sound doctrine, having people who were going to prefer the teachings of man instead of the Bible. Scripture makes it clear that because the inspired word is profitable we should show it to others for doctrine and therefore should preach the word; being instant in season, out of season (i.e. whether you naturally feel in the preaching mood or not) for reproof therefore reprove for correction therefore rebuke for instruction in righteousness, therefore exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine, with the knowledge that no oral tradition is even necessary. The study of the Bible itself shall prepare a person to contend for the faith.

Jude 1:3 (RNKJV)
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Psalms 119:105 (RNKJV)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalms 119:129-130 (RNKJV)
129 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

In the world we may find Christendom (with its error) which has gone astray from the system of doctrine and practice established by the labours of the apostles in the first century. Their writings can help us to see what went wrong and how the Jewish group which was called “The Way” went away from Judaism and became Christianity to become in the 4th century Christendom with the false teaching of the trinity. The very different ways of thinking that entered Christianity to bring the majority unto Christendom is that people preferred to have their ordinary traditions and also their gods and statues of gods (like sculptures, crosses a.o. graven images). We can see that the unbeliever asserts it without fear.
Throughout history we can see that the church partisan admits it without shame, and all sorts of middle men are of opinion that it would be a misfortune were it otherwise. The unbeliever, while himself rejoicing in the fact, uses it as a reproach to those who profess to follow the apostles whom he openly rejects, the churchman, while owning the apostles as the foundation, regards it as the inevitable result of the spiritual prerogative vested in “the church,” that there should be further unfolding of light and truth leading away from the primitive form of things; and the moderate and indifferent class accept it as a necessary and welcome result of the advance of the times, with which they think the original apostolic institution has become inconsistent.

Remember that the majority have always been in the wrong in all ages of the world. Look not at your neighbours, think not of your friends in this matter. They are in all probability like the world in general. They lack independence, and are subservient to their worldly interest. They cannot afford to deviate from orthodox sentiment and usage, and long conformity has deadened their power to judge of the evidence. With all their churchgoings and religious profession, the anxiety of the majority of people centres in the present evil world. Act for yourselves. Do as Peter told a Jewish assembly to do in Jerusalem:

“Save yourselves from this untoward generation.”

We can see that most of those KJV-only people are fervent supporters of the three-unit or Trinity doctrine which therefore impose their so-called “only true KJV” which is not at all like the original King James Bible which mentions the Name of God. They present a King James Version where the name of God is replaced by the tittle “Lord”. That way they can promote their false teaching of the Trinity by doing as if the Lord Jesus is the same as the Lord God and therefore Jesus would be God. They will be resentful to any other Bible that will resurrect or use the original names from the original old manuscripts, because when people would read such Bible they will come very quickly to the biblical insight that Jesus and Jehovah are two different Biblical characters with a lot of difference, one being the son of God the other being the Only One True God Who is One and not three and the Host of hosts. Because those KJV-only people not wanting others to come to see the truth about those two Biblical characters they want not to see Bibles with God His Holy Name in it. The original 1611 Authorised King James Bible has Jehovah’s Name in it and therefore most of those KJV-only people do not use that version but an other one. But you must know that this is not insurmountable. It could have been insuperable in case God His power would be so limited as those KJV people think or do want us to believe. Some KJV Onlyists even go so far as to teach that the King James Bible is without error and was divinely inspired. Some even teach that if there’s a conflict between what the original language manuscripts say and the KJV says, you should choose the latter because that is the most correct Bible manuscript (according them).

A few of the many English Bible-translations

We may never forget that the Almighty God is so powerful that He manages to keep His Word all the time saying what He wants it to say. Whatever Bible version or translation you may use, each Bible shall be able to give the necessary answers and the necessary insight in the biblical truth.

Those KJV-only people not only are wrong to emphasize man’s work, making those translators of the 17th century a sort of infallibility.  You should know they like any scribe and/or translator could err.  Though there may be an “biblical inerrancy” that it is not in the few words they choose to use or their chosen idioms. Others may have used synonyms or may have translated the original in a little different way but still saying the same. As reader it is a matter of coming to see the meaning and the intention of the words. If a Bible version speaks of a goblet, an other of a cup, another one of a glass whilst an other about a mug we should recognise the drinking tool. So also for other objects. We also should come to recognise that in the 17th century the translators sometimes did not have or did not found an English equivalent or thought wrongly that a word was a person instead of a subject (like the adversary  hasatan which became Satan, the devil instead of being just an adversary like Peter is called satan by Jesus)

No matter who was behind a translation, we should remember that (hopefully) those who did the translation work, did their best to bring the Word of God properly. Whoever is behind the translation, “The Bible” itself stays a revelation of God’s purpose given through chosen men who were guided by His Spirit. It is therefore an infallible and authoritative expression of God His Will for man.

2 Samuel 23:1-3 (RNKJV)
1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the Elohim of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 The Spirit of יהוה spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3 The Elohim of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of Elohim.
